What the Dealers Don’t Tell You
The dealers won’t tell you everything when you go to buy a car, but if you use your common sense you should be able to get a great deal that you’re very happy with. That’s one of the best ways to find a good car at a good price and avoid the pressure that a lot of car dealers try to put on a person.
The number one thing to realize is that you don’t have to buy a car today. You can go home and sleep on it, even for several nights…and you don’t have to go back and buy that car. You can go buy another one. Don’t let the dealer push you into buying something that you might not really want, don’t put a deposit down to hold the car, and don’t let high-pressure tactics get to you.
You can also find the invoice price of the car on the Internet. Make sure you get the right one and that you account for all of the options and features that the car might have. It can help you to have a better idea of what you’ll have to pay when you go into the dealer’s showroom and you’ll know whether the dealer or salesperson is trying to get more for the car than it’s actually worth. If that’s the case and you can’t negotiate, go to another dealer.
If you take your time you’ll find the dealer that will appreciate your business and work with you on your new car purchase.
